HEISHI (Soldier)

 

    The Heishi is a strong, stout combatant without the specialized training and finesse of a Musha, the survival and outdoor skills of the Horosha, or the sophistication of a Kashin. The Heishi is a straightforward and unsubtle opponent in a fight, but a respectable one.

     Representing experience in fighting and related areas but not sophisticated training, Heishi are common soldiers (although usually not commanders or career soldiers), guards, local thugs, toughs, bullies, and even regular people who have learned to defend their homes with some ability.

Class Features

The following is a class feature of the Heishi class.

Weapon and Armour Proficiency: The Heishi is proficient in the use of all simple and martial weapons and all armour, tessen, and tate.

 

Bonus Feat: The Heishi gains a bonus feat at 1st level, 2nd level and every 5th level thereafter (i.e. 1t 8th, 14th, and 20th levels). These bonus feats must be drawn from the feats noted below. A Heishi must still meet all prerequisites for a bonus feat, including ability score and base attack bonus minimums.

    These bonus feats are in addition to the feat that a character of any class gets from advancing levels. A Heishi is not limited to the list of Heishi bonus feats when choosing normal feats.
